Terms of Use

1. Provider and acceptance

FishPal is provided by Sebastian Ottow, Appventurer, Aushofener Straße 7, 84571 Reischach, Germany. Contact: support@fishpal.app. By using FishPal, you agree to these Terms and the Privacy Policy. Mandatory consumer rights under applicable law remain unaffected.

2. Service description

FishPal provides tools for private fishing logs, catches, spots, trip tracking, weather and mapping context, analytics, and optional Live Sharing. Features may depend on device permissions, network availability, third-party services, subscription status, and geographic availability.

3. Live Sharing and invitation links

Live Sharing is off by default. Creating an invitation link makes selected trip information available to anyone with a valid link, including precise live location, route, catches, trip activity, and expected return time. A recipient may forward the link. You are responsible for deciding who receives it and for revoking access when it is no longer appropriate.

Live invitation links expire automatically. After a trip ends, FishPal may keep a shared recap available for up to 24 hours unless access was revoked earlier.

During an active recording, Stop sharing offers two choices: revoke the invitation links while retaining the published trip copy, or delete that web copy and invalidate its links. The second choice does not delete your locally saved trip or stop recording. Removal requires a successful connection to the sharing service and does not retract information someone has already saved.

You must not use Live Sharing to disclose another person's location or personal information without permission. Do not publish invitation links in public channels unless you intentionally want anyone who obtains the link to access the trip. Stopping all sharing, revoking the invitation, or expiry prevents future access through FishPal after the sharing service processes the change. Ending a trip stops live updates but may leave a recap available until its link expires. None of these actions can retract copies or screenshots already made by recipients.

4. Safety

FishPal and Live Sharing are not emergency, rescue, dispatch, navigation-safety, or personal-safety services. Location updates may be delayed, inaccurate, interrupted, or unavailable because of battery state, permissions, connectivity, terrain, device conditions, or provider outages. Do not rely on FishPal as the only way to communicate your location or expected return.

5. Fishing information and AI-assisted results

Species identification, size estimates, forecasts, analytics, maps, and recommendations are informational and may be incomplete or incorrect. Users remain responsible for fish identification, safe handling, access rights, licenses, seasons, size and bag limits, and all local regulations. Consult official authorities when a decision affects legality or safety.

6. User content and acceptable use

You retain ownership of photos, notes, catches, and other content you provide. You grant FishPal the limited rights necessary to store, process, transmit, and display that content for the features you request. You must have the right to upload and share the content and must not use FishPal to violate law, privacy, intellectual property, access restrictions, or the rights of others.

7. Subscriptions and purchases

Some features require a paid subscription or are subject to usage limits. Prices, billing periods, trials, renewal, cancellation, and refunds are presented in the purchase flow and are also governed by the applicable app-store terms. Cancellation stops future renewal but does not generally refund the current billing period unless required by law or platform policy.

8. Availability and changes

FishPal may update, suspend, or discontinue features to maintain security, comply with law, address provider changes, or improve the service. Reasonable efforts will be made to avoid unnecessary disruption, but uninterrupted availability is not guaranteed.

9. Suspension and termination

Access may be restricted when reasonably necessary to prevent abuse, protect users or infrastructure, investigate a security issue, or comply with law. Users may stop using FishPal at any time and may request deletion as described in the Privacy Policy.

10. Liability

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including mandatory consumer protections. To the extent permitted by law, FishPal is not responsible for decisions made solely from estimated, delayed, user-entered, AI-generated, weather, mapping, or Live Sharing data, or for disclosure caused by a recipient forwarding an invitation link.

11. Changes and contact

These Terms may be updated to reflect product or legal changes. Material changes will be communicated through the app, website, or another appropriate channel. Questions can be sent to support@fishpal.app.
